On Tuesday, the choose committee posted a video displaying former Acting Secretary of Defense Chris Miller testifying that Trump’s declare that he ordered 10,000 troops to defend the Capitol on Jan. 6 was ― and we’re paraphrasing right here ― principally B.S.
But Miller testified beneath oath that he was “never given any direction or order or knew of any plans of that nature,” and he added that he was “surprised” to see statements suggesting Trump made these orders.
“There was no order from the president,” he stated.
Miller added that any plans of activating extra troopers to guard the Capitol have been mere “contingency planning,” however it was not set in movement.
“There was no official message traffic or anything of that nature,” Miller stated. “That was not part of my plan or the Department of Defense’s plan.”
